Round St. Anne Medal with beveled borders, with shiny, flat back, made of 14K Yellow Gold. Available in: Small - 15mm; Large - 18mm St. Anne, though not mentioned by name in the New Testament, is identified as the mother of the Virgin Mary in extra-biblical literature of the early centuries of the church. Anne and her husband (likewise identified as St. Joachim), are held to be the natural parents of Mary, and must have been a very holy couple. Anne, in particular, was very popular in France at the time of the French settlements in Quebec, Canada, (New France), and it was natural for the settlers to name the first church built there (around 1650) in her honor. Miracles occurred from the very beginning, and continue even now that it is a great basilica - as the mountain of crutches left by grateful pilgrims bear witness. St. Anne de Beaupre (Beaupre is the name of the region) is the patron saint of Canada. Her feast is celebrated on July 26. Her animals have their own personalities, histories and stories. Noelle says "So many people tell me that my art makes them happy. To make someone feel good inside means more than anything in this crazy world. To surround ourselves with art that makes us happy can have a powerful impact on our moods and therefore our lives. I encourage adults as well as children to bring art into their home that makes them smile." All prints are printed in Oregon, USA on archival heavyweight paper using archival dyes and inks, and are inserted into a crystal clear sleeve with a hard backing and a copy of Noelle's biography.
